Life has been lifeing lately (which is why you’re getting an evening email), and there have been a few things that have required my attention. That means today’s newsletter is a brief hello to share some delicious baked goods with you and remind you that no matter how much you want something to be possible in this moment…

Great Things At Nick + Sons

Come hang out at this friendly neighborhood bakery with me. For this week’s episode of Great Things, we visit Nick + Sons in Williamsburg, created by two Nicks (Nick Heavican and Nick Brophy) who bonded over a playdate with their sons.

I got to know Nick Heavican, who was a photographer when he found himself awestruck by a piece of sourdough at Braud & Co in Iceland. With zero baking experience, Nick walked in asking for an apprenticeship and set off on a path that would change his life forever. His story is a fun one, because there is always a twist with each new piece of information he throws at you. Like, what do you mean he baked his first croissant ten days before his bakery opened?!

Along this path, he also met the other Nick through an average run-of-the-mill playdate. It can be crazy how you barely know someone, and then they walk into your life, change it for the better, and then you can’t imagine what it would be like without them.

Follow Nick + Sons on Instagram or head to their website to view more. Watch the full-length video below on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts

Life Has Been Lifeing

Hey all. Sometimes life throws a lot at you, and sometimes it comes with things that aren’t ready or appropriate to be shared yet and a need to step away and focus on the other things. Life truly has been lifeing, so this is all I have to offer you this week, and that’s okay (who am I telling that to, me? You? Probably me).

I’ll be back next week when I can come to you with my whole self again.

In the meantime, if you’re really itching to read something, below is a highlight of some of your favorite newsletters of mine. Putting this out there again is a great lesson in being okay with sharing the messy beginning parts of things. GTTT has evolved so much over the last few years, and many of these newsletters show it. The meat of the content is still there, and that’s the good stuff. 😃

Moments with Maurice

If you only pause to reflect on your life for one moment today, do it now.

There are seasons when life quietly rearranges our priorities for us. We think we can keep showing up everywhere at once, but something urgent, tender, or unexpected asks for our full attention. Pushing through isn’t always right, because you don’t want to weaken the output of the things that drastically need your attention.

Prompt: Where is life asking you to go right now, and what do you need to release so you can follow it with less guilt and more trust?

Your turn! Journal your answer, or if you find yourself sharing the progress of your Great Things on social, tag me at @greatthingswith_adrian so I can join in on cheering you along!

Your Questions Answered

How do you handle stress from a long work load?

- Katie Jackson

In all honesty, I scream into a pillow. I have a lot of physical aggression I need to get out which is why my natural reaction when I feel frustrated is to hit things. Covering my face and screaming is cathartic replacement for that. I also try to focus on something hat am i looking forward to. Is it steak? Wine or a Spritz? Maybe I just need to get in car and drive. Finally, Frankie brings me back down to earth. He is happy and super loving and you cant be mad when he's in front of you. He definitely makes you paws...

- Adrian
